Getting to Koh Phi Phi is very easy and the island is accessible all year round. The small tropical paradise of Koh Phi Phi is located in the Andaman sea, 42 km from Krabi, 48 km from Phuket, and 35 km from Koh Lanta.

Phi Phi Island consists of six smaller islands, out of which the only Phi Phi Don is inhabited. The main island of Phi Phi Don is very small, only 8km (5miles) in length and 3,5km (2,2 miles) in width. There are no roads and the only way to get around is by walking or by taxi boat. No roads mean no cars, no traffic jams, and no pollution just clear air to breathe.

The scenery and views around the Phi Phi Islands are so unique that you will not be able to see them anywhere else in Thailand. The islands have been formed from limestone cliffs which have created some unbelievable scenery and mountainous formations.

Koh Phi Phi national park is well known for its beautiful and lively marine life. Many tourists visit Phi Phi Island from all over the world to discover the underwater beauty and explore the local snorkeling and scuba diving sites.

Apart from beautiful beaches and stunning scenery, Koh Phi Phi is known for its lively nightlife. The center of the small town is the heart of many pool-bars, rooftop hangouts, and live music bars. In Loh Dalum Bay you can enjoy the famous beach party and fire-show.

How do you get to Koh Phi Phi?

THE ONLY WAY TO GET TO THE ISLAND IS BY A BOAT:

either bigger ferry-boat which runs a few times a day.
or a faster speedboat transfer.

If you are traveling from Bangkok, you can take a domestic flight (or bus or train) to Phuket or Krabi, which are the closest airports to Phi Phi Island. The flight from Bangkok to Krabi or Phuket Airport takes around 1,5 hours and leaves very frequently. There are many domestic carriers and you can find flights to south Thailand from both Bangkok airports.

From Phuket, boats leave from the south of the island, Rassada Pier. Ferry over to Phi Phi Island then takes around two hours.
From Krabi, boats leave from Klong Jirad Pier in Krabi Town. Ferry over to Phi Phi Island then takes around two hours. ,

What are the most favorite hotels in Koh Phi phi and what part of the island to stay at?

Phi Phi Island offers a wide range of accommodation. From budget-friendly hostels and dorm rooms to luxury hotels and private pool villas.

If you prefer to be within walking distance to all the restaurants and bars, then opt-out of for one of the hotels located in the town.

If, on the other hand, you prefer a more secluded location, we recommend any of the hotels located at Long Beach. You can still walk to the town (2km) or take the 5 minutes boat ride to the port.

If you prefer a completely quiet area, then you can choose the secluded beaches on the east coast of Phi Phi Don. Leam Tong Beach, Loh Ba Kao, or Relax Beach. If you book your hotel, on one of these beaches you will need to take a taxi boat (around 30min) to the port. Therefore it is not recommended for anyone who wants to go out each night to the bars. Getting back to your hotel late at night would get very expensive and sometimes impossible.
